Think Blue at the Emsworth Food Festival
Emsworth Food Festival is the first food festival
to embrace the latest in marketing technology. The
festival becomes a Bluetooth Zone from September
14th to 16th, when visitors can receive festival
news and updates on their mobile phone throughout
the villages over the three days.
Chichester
based company, Think Blue, has worked with the
festival organisers to create a messaging system
that will add to the visitors experience. Each of
the four villages will send out their own messages,
providing information to visitors that walk within a
200m range of the transmitters. Messages will
include demonstration events, ideas for lunch as
well as supper recipes using produce from exhibitors
within the festival.
We are incredibly excited about using Bluetooth to
update visitors,&#xu201D; said Lulu Bowerman,
Chairman of Emsworth Food Festival. Its an
effective way of communicating with visitors, as
well as eco-friendly - theres no paper or wastage
to worry about. We urge visitors to switch on their
Bluetooth phone facility and feedback their thoughts
to the team during the event.&#xu201D;
The Think Blue team has been specializing in
wireless eco-friendly marketing and information
systems for over two years, allowing businesses to
distribute information freely to customers as they
walk within range. Messages can be text, pictures or
images. Clients include retailers, restaurants, the
leisure industry, events and airports.
The process is simple. Once a customer with a
Bluetooth enabled device walks within range of any
Think Blue system, they are asked if they wish to
receive information. If they choose to accept the
message then it is automatically downloaded to their
handset within seconds. If they refuse the
information then the devices are smart enough to
remember this and wont attempt to send the same
message to that person again. The major business
benefits of the service are the amazing flexibility
and responsiveness the systems offer, with
businesses able to send new messages within minutes,
and measure the response quickly through live
statistics showing how many people have accepted or
declined the messages.
There are over one billion Bluetooth devices
worldwide, said Robert Rawlins, Managing Director
of Think Blue. Thats more than the number of PCs,
with mobile phones accounting for over 70% of the
Bluetooth devices. The technology is not new, but it
has really come into its own in the last two years
as businesses have woken up to the
benefits.&#xu201D;
