The directors of Emsworth Food Festival
have announced that the 2008 festival will not take
place. The decision has been taken after consideration
about a variety of issues,
including:
-
issues relating to the size and
layout of the festival in the village
-
the ever increasing costs of running
the festival
-
problems relating to the large
volumes of traffic created and parking
-
inconvenience to some local
businesses and residents
-
the need to freshen up" the festival
so that it does not become stale
-
a need for additional volunteer
support specially from those who can contribute
particular expertise.
The directors, and organising committee
wish to thank the residents and businesses of Emsworth
and the volunteers who help plan and run the festival
for their support and assure them that work has already
begun on the preparations for the next festival so that
when it returns in 2009 it will be better and more
exciting than ever before.
